Common Questions about Cicero United Methodist Church e-Giving:

What is e-Giving and what are its benefits?

Today people are willing to have money transferred from their bank accounts to pay bills, insurance premiums, mortgages, fitness memberships and more. Online giving provides the same convenience for those who want to faithfully and consistently make a financial tithe or gift to the church.

e-Giving is not a replacement for our regular worship service offerings. Rather, it is an additional, convenient method to submit your regular offering. While we accept offerings via credit cards, we strongly suggest that no one give out of debt or use a credit card unless it is paid off every month.

Is e-Giving secure?

Yes. Cicero United Methodist has a direct line to our bank. It is our responsibility to ensure your information is protected. Information submitted online is protected by physical, electronic and procedural safeguards in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, including firewalls and data encryption.

Can I give to multiple funds (e.g., general, missions, Mission Expansion Project pledges)?

Yes. To indicate your desired fund allocation, please select the appropriate fund at the bottom of the e-Giving form. This helps our Finance team correctly record your pledge.

Here is how it works:

You authorize a specified amount of money to be electronically transferred directly from your checking or savings account to the Church’s bank account. This way your Christian Stewardship becomes a part of your budget on a consistent basis throughout the year. It’s fast, safe, and easy. In fact, it’s less risky than checks, as it cannot be lost, stolen, or destroyed in the mail. Electronic transfer costs you NOTHING. The Church will issue you a donation statement for your tax records and your bank statements will provide you with a record of transfer as additional proof. This simple and easy to use form can begin or change your electronic contribution amount. Forms can be turned into the office or sent to the church Secretary by email. Her email is of course you can cancel or change your authorization at any time by notifying us in writing. Of course, email is the most efficient way of notification.  We need to be notified by the Wednesday before your next scheduled deduction. We have placed the form on our website so you can access and print it at any time or check with church office for available forms.

Are there fees associated with each method of e-Giving?

Each type of e-Giving incurs some kind of fee. These fees will be absorbed by CUMC and not your account. Automatic withdrawals (ACH) incur a flat fee that is less than the percentage fee incurred with credit/debit card transactions. Therefore, automatic transfers (ACH) are the preferred method of e-Giving.
